Basic Stages
of Mask Making:
1.
Mold
impression: use gypsona or plaster of Paris to take an impression or
“female mold”

2.
The Bust
again use plaster of Paris to make a bust or positive mold, this is
also known as a plug

3.
build
the shape of the mask using modeling clay

4.
Cut out
fiberglass and saturate with resin (don’t use two much resin as this
adds weight and actually while not adding strength

5.
Map out the holes then cut them
out using drills and other power tools

6.
Sand

7.
Prime,
paint and clear coat (Urethane based automotive paints are
recommended)
8.
Add foam and straps
